Manage Files

Lifeboat offers a simple SFTP interface for managing files in a Static Files directory. A very simple interface. Developers can upload files and directories, as well as delete them from the server. When a domain is configured for the static files directory Lifeboat can generate the URLs.

There are three ways to enter the file navigator from the Static Files list view.

  1. With an entry selected the "Manage Files" button in the bottom right becomes enabled. Click this button.
  2. With an entry selected, contextual click (right-click) and select "Manage Files..."
  3. Double click a Static Files entry that already has a Domain and Source path configured.

Contextual-click (right-click) a selection of files to present the options available. "Copy Remote Path" will copy the remote server path for the file to the clipboard. "Set Permissions..." will present a window to set the octal permissions value of all selected files. "Delete Selection" will confirm and delete the selected files.

If a domain is configured, the URL options for the file selection are available.

"Set as Error Page..." will switch to the error page configuration view, pre-fill the server path for this file, and select the code field. This is a handy shortcut for configuring custom error pages.

Upload a file named index.html and it will act as the main page for the static files directory. This can be useful for hosting regular websites. To use this feature, enable the index.html behavior from configuration view.
